Caron Butler (Dal - SF) could miss the next two months with a knee injury he sustained on Saturday night in Milwaukee. The team tried to keep the severity of the injury quiet, until they obtained the MRI results of Butler's knee. However, an anonymous person with direct knowledge of the injury, disclosed some information to The Associated Press. According to this person, the knee injury suffered was a torn patellar tendon. Butler could very well be out until March with this injury.

Up until this point, Caron Butler has averaged 15 points a game and has been the Mavericks' third-leading scorer, behind Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry. Shawn Marion will likely be the biggest beneficiary of more minutes, with the absence of Butler. Dallas has lost its last three games without Dirk and now will the loss of Butler, things are not looking very good for the Mavs. Nowitzki will not play in tonight's game against the Cavaliers, but the Mavericks are hopeful that he will return sometime later this week.
